• Spell Gone Awry: Dark Fantasy Illustration for D&D Campaign, Featuring Fire Mage and Roll Outcomes

Task: I was tasked with creating an illustration for a Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) game manual, illustrating the consequences of a failed spellcasting when a player rolls a specific combination of dice. The focus was to be on the spellcaster and the dire aftermath of a poorly uttered spell, resulting in widespread destruction and death. The illustration depicts a Fire Mage amidst burning and charred buildings, surrounded by deceased charred individuals and creatures. Additionally, the top portion of the illustration was designated for housing a table displaying the dice roll values, overlaying the imagery. Therefore, it was decided to use light tones for the background to ensure a stark contrast with the black-colored table.

  • Design and Creation of a Medieval Knight's Coat of Arms

The project involved the intricate design of a medieval-style coat of arms that symbolized the values, heritage, and strength of a knight. The design needed to incorporate several key elements, each carrying a specific meaning:

    1. Knight's Helmet: A central feature of the coat of arms, the helmet represented bravery, honor, and readiness for battle. Its detailed design reflected the era's craftsmanship and added an authentic medieval touch.

    2. Griffin with a Star: Perched atop the helmet was a majestic griffin, a mythical creature symbolizing strength, vigilance, and divine power. In its talon, the griffin held a star, representing guidance, ambition, and the pursuit of greatness. This element emphasized the noble and aspirational nature of the knight's journey.

    3. Shield with a Bear: The knight's shield, a prominent feature of the coat of arms, bore the image of a bear. This powerful animal symbolized courage, strength, and protection, aligning perfectly with the qualities expected of a knight. The shield's design also served as a defensive emblem, blending functionality with artistic detail.

    4. Motto Banner: Below the main elements, a decorative ribbon displayed the knight's motto, encapsulating their core beliefs and guiding principles. This banner tied the design together, adding a personal and philosophical dimension to the composition.

    5. Additional Decorative Features: To enhance the coat of arms, other ornamental elements were added, such as intricate scrollwork, patterns, and a harmonious color palette. These details were carefully selected to ensure the design reflected the grandeur and sophistication of the medieval period.

The final composition was a balanced and visually striking representation of medieval heraldry, designed to convey the knight's identity, values, and legacy in a timeless and meaningful way.

"High Elves bring down the Monolith of Truth from the peak of Mount Destiny. It should evoke the imagery of Moses bringing down the Ten Commandments as if the holy elves have gathered a black stone tablet containing sacred laws. • Crafting 6 Card Templates for a Steampunk Card Game

Objective:  The task involved creating designs for six distinct card templates for a card game with a steampunk aesthetic, drawing inspiration from renowned games like Magic the Gathering.

The game encompasses six card types: Murder, Target, Steal, In Your Sights, and Character cards. Following the client's preferences, the design process incorporated six unique colors (light gray, dark gray, red, yellow, blue, green) assigned to each card type.

Furthermore, I meticulously selected an appropriate font, allocated dedicated spaces for titles, descriptions of card effects, and handled all other elements essential to card design. This comprehensive approach ensures that my client can utilize these templates seamlessly for generating new cards, each with distinct text descriptions, names, and illustrations.

Additionally, I presented one character as an example, illustrating how characters corresponding to the six card types will appear. In the actual game, these characters will be diverse.

    Each card measures 3.5 x 2.5 inches.

  • Design Development and Illustrations for the Sauria Board Game

My client approached me with this task.
For his Jurassic Park board game, I had to design and draw the following:
    1. Design the Player Card layout. This means that it was necessary to come up with the appearance, design, draw and place the icons of the player's abilities, draw a portrait of the character, and so on.
    2. Design 4 dinosaur cards, including illustrations for the front and back of the dinosaur cards.
Here on the left are card backs with illustrations for all 4 types of dinosaur cards. They are divided into 4 types. At the top are the most dangerous for the player (black backside), below the safest for the player (green backside).
On the left, there are 4 card faces with icons (carnivore predator, herbivore), (big dinosaur, small dinosaur), (dinosaur pack, one dinosaur) and so on. It was necessary to place this on the Player Card, add the names of dinosaurs, and their level of danger expressed in numerical value, and draw and place game dice of different colors in the right corner of the card.
    4. It was necessary to design the front and back of the Daytime Event and Nighttime Event decks.
    5. It was necessary to design the front and back of the card layout for the Encounter deck. This was to include an illustration from the front of the card that would serve as a background for the various text that would be placed on 15 or more cards. I also needed to draw an illustration for the back of the card.
    6. I also drew an illustration for a general background for dinosaur cards and one illustration for a Raptor pack for dinosaur cards.

Here you can see these examples of my work that I show as a set.

  • Box template for 24 cards of the mystical board game "The Mystic Mountain"

Task: It was necessary to create a box template for 24 cards of the board game "The Mystic Mountain".

In the center is the symbol of the White Flame, which is used in the game.

When creating the design, this option was chosen with a predominance of brown, gold, sand, as this should send the player or viewer to the theme of antiquity, the desert, spiritual purity, secret knowledge, still hidden. Also, it was not supposed to resemble the design of previously created maps in terms of color scheme.

Earlier, I designed the cards and drew illustrations for 24 cards. This set can be viewed here.

Shown here is the design of the box without the bleeds that need to be included in the template. That is, now the viewer sees the box as it will come out after the printing press. In fact, a slightly different version is being made for printing, namely, including bleeds (an additional part of the box of size 6-8 mm) along the border of the box. Here the bleeds are simply hidden.

As time passes, the farm is attacked by Gallic barbarians, but the wolf and his pack come to the farmer's aid and drive away the group of warriors. As a reward for their help, the farmer leaves part of the unpicked grapes on the vine until winter. When winter comes, the wolves return and eat the grapes left by the farmer. • Pirate Treasure Hunt Map

Task: The task was to create a treasure hunt map for a children's game. My client provided me with photographs of objects they wished to include on the map, such as playground equipment, clusters of trees, roads, and more. Additionally, maps of the Laguna Beach area in California, USA, were supplied.

Treasure Hunt Maps are designed to pinpoint the locations of hidden treasures or prizes. They are utilized in games with children to craft an engaging search experience. Children follow the map's clues, enhance their navigation skills, solve riddles, and collaborate in groups to locate the hidden treasure or complete tasks indicated on the map.

Typically, these maps are tailored to a specific location or venue where the game is conducted, be it a backyard, park, forest, city, or any other setting. The placement of treasures or prizes on the map typically corresponds to actual locations within that area, heightening the realism and excitement of the search experience for children.

After thoroughly reviewing my client's information, I commenced the task and ultimately created a printable map layout. My client printed the map, and subsequently, his entire family enjoyed numerous entertaining hours playing treasure hunt games alongside their children.

  • Tattoo Celtic Dragon (redesign)

The client turned to me with such a task. She needed to make redesign the existing tattoo, which she did a couple of years ago.
The image of the dragon was chosen as a symbol of flight, power, and freedom. Also, the sign uses the zodiac symbol Taurus, I did not change it. The difficulty of working is the fact that it is impossible to change, namely, it is impossible to remove the already applied tattoo, you can only change the outlines, supplement, add some elements, and make it elegant. In this case, this is a tattoo for a girl, so grace was not in last place.
Below is the final version of the tattoo, which will replace the existing one.
